About This Visa

MFA Romania added India to its national airport-transit list. Use this only for an airside connection through a Romanian airport, without entering the country. Overnight wait still has to stay in the international zone — they cannot leave it on an A visa.

Exempt if they already hold a valid Schengen C / D or a Member State residence permit, or a valid visa or residence for Canada, Japan, or the USA, as that MFA page lists. Holiday in Romania: Type C.

Documents Required

MFA Romania — airport transit

  • eVisa file, then in person at the Embassy in New Delhi, same path as Type C
  • Proof of onward travel after the Romanian transit
  • Papers showing they will not enter Schengen
