About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders are not visa-free on the passport alone. MFA table (18 September 2024): ordinary and Type C need a visa. They can skip the Albanian visa only if they hold one of the supporting documents on the official e-Visa page.

Qualifying papers: a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa already used in a Schengen state, or a valid Schengen residence permit; or a valid multiple-entry visa or residence permit from an EU state, the USA, or the UK (including electronic), already used in that country; or a 10-year UAE residence permit still valid at least one year from entry. Leave Albania no later than 3 days from the expiry of that document. MFA: this exemption is for stays up to 90 days in 180.

Documents Required

  • Indian ordinary passport
  • The original qualifying Schengen / EU / US / UK visa or residence permit, or the UAE 10-year residence permit

Processing time

Usually 15 working days after payment; exceptionally up to 30. Apply within 90 days of the intended travel date.

Stay period

About This Visa

Use this when they have no qualifying Schengen / EU / US / UK visa or permit (and no UAE 10-year residence). Usual staff path: https://e-visa.al while they are outside Albania. MFA India tool: ordinary (national) passport needs a Type C. Diplomatic and service passports do not, for A/C.

Entry is single, double, or multiple — all EUR 15 on that MFA page. Consul accepts the file, then they pay EUR 15 by bank transfer within 15 days (name, visa code, “Visa Fee Payment” on the receipt). Unpaid files are refused. After payment: usually 15 working days, exceptionally 30. Approved e-Visa comes by email — print it. A visa is not a guarantee of entry. Do not write to the mission during checks unless they write first. Appeals: visa@mfa.gov.al within 5 working days.

Documents Required

MFA — all Type C / D (upload, then deposit if the mission asks)

  • Online form on e-visa.al — print and sign
  • One passport-size photo, not older than 6 months. Portal size: 47 × 36 mm, or 555 × 425 px at 300 DPI
  • Passport photocopy. Valid at least 3 months beyond the requested visa, and at least 2 blank pages (MFA, for visa applicants)
  • Travel health insurance for the visa period
  • Under 18: parent or guardian consent. File is made by a parent, guardian, or legal carer
  • If visiting a host: invitation and host passport copy (host also files the invitation with Border and Migration in Albania)

PDFs in Albanian or English. The portal may ask for a return flight booking. Third-country filing: resident there over 12 months, plus residence permit valid 3 months beyond the requested visa.

2. Good to Know

Rules and notes that apply to every visa type

How to apply

  1. If they qualify for visa-free: travel with the original supporting visa or permit. No e-Visa.
  2. Otherwise: register on https://e-visa.al from outside Albania. Upload PDFs. Wait for acceptance.
  3. Pay EUR 15 by bank transfer (MFA India tool: same for single, double, or multiple). Upload the stamped bank receipt within 15 days.
  4. If approved, download and print the e-Visa. Stamp visa: appear at Beijing, Abu Dhabi, or Istanbul as named in the file.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Type C visa unless they hold a qualifying Schengen / EU / US / UK visa or residence permit, or a UAE 10-year residence permit.
  • MFA India tool: national passport — Type C / airport A “with visa”. Diplomatic and service — A/C without visa.
  • Usual staff path without qualifying papers: e-Visa at https://e-visa.al. Entry: single, double, or multiple (EUR 15 each on that page).
  • No Albanian embassy in New Delhi. MFA: Embassy of Albania in Beijing, Abu Dhabi, or Istanbul.

Embassy

There is no Albanian embassy in New Delhi. MFA India visa-regime tool: apply at the Embassy of Albania in Beijing, Abu Dhabi, or Istanbul. Start on https://e-visa.al. Do not invent a Delhi honorary post.

Appeals and visa-refusal questions: visa@mfa.gov.al (Directorate for Consular Affairs).

Photo and uploads

  • Photo: 47 × 36 mm, or 555 × 425 px at 300 DPI; not older than 6 months
  • Scans as PDF, Albanian or English
  • Payment: bank receipt with name, visa code, and stamp — not a phone screenshot

Fees

  • MFA India visa-regime tool (national passport): EUR 15 single, EUR 15 double, EUR 15 multiple. Fee applies only to national passports.
  • Same MFA page: ages 0–6 free; ages 7–12 half the adult fee (EUR 7.50). e-Visa portal instead says under 6 free and ages 6–12 half — quote the MFA India tool for Indian ordinary passports, and note the portal if they ask.
  • Pay after the consul accepts the file. Not refunded if refused. Diplomatic/service A/C: no visa, so no C fee.
