About This Visa
Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C. Usual staff path: signed form from https://vistos.mne.gov.pt, then VFS in India. Embassy New Delhi or the Consulate General in Goa decides by district. Do not use visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/prt — it does not load. Honorary consuls do not practise consular acts. VFS India: they must have lived in India at least six months. Long-stay D is a different path.
Documents Required

- All pages of the signed C form (minors: parent/guardian). Passport: issued within 10 years, 3 months after return, 2 empty pages. No handwritten change on the biodata page after 01/04/2010. Previous passports. Copies of earlier Schengen visas
- Two photos, white background, 35–40 mm, under 6 months; one pasted on the form, one clipped (not stapled) on the last passport page. Cover letter. Round-trip reservation; several Schengen stops: intra-Schengen transport
- Insurance original from the Embassy approved Indian list. Coverage printed as min. EUR 30,000 / USD 50,000 / CHF 50,000 — keep all three. Whole Schengen, whole stay
- Hotels for the whole Schengen stay. Employed: 3 months payslips and salary-account statements, 3 months personal bank, ITR-V last 2 years, leave letter. Self-employed: GST / ownership, personal and business bank, ITR. Retired: 3 months pension. Student: enrolment, NOC, parent ITR and bank
- Host in Portugal: original Termo de Responsabilidade, notarised in Portugal, plus host ID and tax/bank papers. Minor: apostilled birth certificate and notarised consent as on the checklist. Portuguese or English only
