MFA um.fi and Embassy India how-to-apply: file well ahead; earliest 6 months before the visit. Maximum processing 15 days. Longer if the file needs a closer look, and times can differ by country or after a Council decision.
Stay period
Up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Multiple-entry: total stay cannot exceed the days on the sticker, still within 90/180. Multiple-entry C valid up to five years.

About This Visa
Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Schengen C for a short visit. Usual staff path: fill the form at https://finlandvisa.fi (documents can be checked there without logging in; a paper PDF form is also allowed), then book VFS Global as the Embassy India pages say. Submit in person. Honorary consuls and honorary consulates do not grant visas. Do not use visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/fin — it does not load.
Holiday C is not Enter Finland. Enter Finland is for residence permits. The Embassy will not grant a Schengen visa to someone who came to Finland to wait for a residence permit.
Documents Required
finlandvisa.fi — India list (no login needed to read it)
- finlandvisa.fi form (or signed PDF). Supporting papers in English, Finnish, or Swedish
- Passport or travel document accepted by Finland: issued within 10 years, 2 blank pages, valid at least 90 days after leaving Schengen
- One colour photo they can be recognised from (Police photo rules on um.fi)
- Travel insurance: min. EUR 30,000, whole Schengen, in force for the visa applied for. Sudden illness, accident, medical repatriation, and repatriation in case of death
- Purpose: tickets, hotel confirmation, private invitation, or official invitation as the case. Private visit: say if the host is a friend, spouse, or relative. Invitation does not decide the visa. If the host pays: proof-of-sponsorship form, signature authenticated by a notary, plus the papers on um.fi — the applicant still shows their own finances
- Originals at VFS plus copies. The mission can ask for more papers or an interview
