Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa for a holiday. Embassy New Delhi FAQ: yes, and the passport must be valid at least 6 months. Diplomatic/official Indian passports are visa-exempt (Embassy visas page). Ordinary passports are not.

Usual staff path: a sponsor in the UAE — hotel booking, Emirates or Air Arabia, or a travel agent in India. The Consulate does not issue visit/tourist visas on ordinary passports. u.ae: apply through ICP, GDRFA-Dubai, a UAE airline, a licensed agent, or the hotel. Embassies do not issue tourist visas.

FAQ: a visit visa needs a return ticket, or an onward ticket. Do not pay an unknown agent until the UAE Embassy or a known airline/hotel confirms they are genuine.

• Passport valid at least 6 months from entry (Embassy FAQ; 3 months only for some transit / special permits)
• Return or onward ticket (Embassy FAQ — visit visa condition)
• Entry permit arranged by the UAE sponsor (hotel, airline, or licensed agent)

Print the permit before travel. The Embassy does not cancel visas — the UAE sponsor does.

Embassy New Delhi visas page: Indian nationals with a valid US visa (minimum 6 months) can get visa on arrival at the UAE airport. Use this only if that US visa is still valid 6 months. Do not send a file with no US visa to the airport as the plan.

The officer still decides entry. If they have no US visa, use the tourist visa through a sponsor.

• Indian ordinary passport valid at least 6 months
• Valid US visa with at least 6 months left

Use this only if the Indian ordinary passport already has a valid residence permit of the United States, an EU member state, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. ICP (25 June 2026): India is an eligible nationality for this “Entry Visa for Nationals of Certain Countries”. Accompanying family must also be eligible nationals with a qualifying residence permit.

14-day visa: AED 100, may be extended once while in the UAE. 60-day visa: AED 250, single entry, not extendable. Overstay: AED 50 per day. This is not the same as the Embassy’s US-visa-on-arrival line. If they have no such residence permit, do not use this path.
