Online at www.evisa.gov.tr, about three minutes if they are eligible (MFA and Embassy New Delhi). 24/7.

Stay period

Single entry, one month (MFA: ordinary Indian passport, if they meet the conditions).

Validity

As issued on the e-Visa. Entry date must fall inside the supporting visa or residence permit.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. They are not visa-exempt. MFA: diplomatic passports are visa-free up to 90 days; ordinary, special, and service passports are not.

e-Visa only if they hold a valid Schengen, USA, UK, or Ireland visa or residence permit, and the entry date to Türkiye sits inside that document’s validity. Used or unused visas count if the dates still cover entry. Other countries’ e-Visas do not count. A supporting visa in an old passport is accepted if they travel with both passports and the e-Visa is on the current one. Carry the original supporting paper; the airline and Turkish immigration check it. The portal does not check it for them.

Tourism or commerce only. Work and study: sticker visa at a mission, not this e-Visa. Apply only at https://www.evisa.gov.tr. No handling company is authorised in India. No biometrics if they qualify. Equivalent to a sticker visa. Print it. Check status at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/status/. The Embassy does not answer e-Visa queries — use the portal FAQ and feedback form.

Documents Required

Embassy New Delhi e-Visa notice + MFA

Ordinary passport (MFA: valid at least 6 months from arrival). Law 6458: expiry at least 60 days beyond the stay on the visa — for a one-month e-Visa that is 90 days from entry
Valid Schengen / USA / UK / Ireland visa or residence permit covering the entry date (original, to show at boarding and immigration)
e-Visa from https://www.evisa.gov.tr on the current passport

If they do not have that supporting document, do not file e-Visa. Use the sticker visa.

Processing time

Appointment at Gateway. Embassy New Delhi does not give status — ask Gateway.

Stay period

As granted on the sticker. Confirm with Gateway for that visa type.

About This Visa

Use this when they have no qualifying Schengen / USA / UK / Ireland visa or residence permit, or the trip is not tourism/commerce (work, study, and similar). Embassy New Delhi visa fees (INR, table dated 1 January 2022): single INR 4,555; multiple INR 14,410. Gateway service: USD 50 regular or USD 75 VIP, excluding taxes, paid in local-currency equivalent. Confirm the amount Gateway takes on the day. Do not send the file to the Embassy counter for status.

Documents Required

Confirm the checklist with Gateway when they book. Embassy New Delhi: appointment at the VAC that covers their state. New Delhi centre: Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, Mezzanine Level, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place, New Delhi 110001. Other Gateway offices are on the Embassy jurisdiction page.

How to apply

If they have a qualifying supporting visa or permit: https://www.evisa.gov.tr only. Pay on that site. Print the e-Visa. Carry the supporting original.
If they do not: Gateway appointment, 022 67866029. Pay the Embassy INR fee plus the Gateway service fee.
Ignore unofficial “Turkish e-visa” sites. Check a document from a third-party site at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/status/.

e-Visa only with a qualifying Schengen / USA / UK / Ireland visa or residence permit, tourism or commerce, at www.evisa.gov.tr.
Otherwise: Gateway sticker visa.
