Processing time

No visa to apply. File the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before travel. Entry is decided by the immigration officer.

Stay period

Up to 30 days from 15 September 2026 (Embassy New Delhi). Stay is what the arrival stamp shows.

Validity

Visa-exempt for that entry. Not a visa sticker.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders: 30-day visa exemption for tourism and short-term business from 15 September 2026. Embassy New Delhi. The old 60-day exemption has ended. Do not quote 60 days. This is not a visa. The officer still decides entry. Stay is on the arrival stamp.

Usual staff path for a trip of 30 days or less: no e-Visa. File TDAC, then travel. For a stay longer than 30 days, use the tourist e-Visa (TR) instead.

Immigration Division 1 (Bangkok): a tourism extension for an Indian national is not longer than 7 days. Do not promise a 30-day extension.

Documents Required

Thailand Digital Arrival Card — https://tdac.immigration.go.th — all non-Thai travellers. Submit no more than 3 days before arrival (including the arrival date). English. TDAC is not a visa and does not replace a visa if they need one.

Download or print the card from the email. The officer may still ask for onward travel and means of support (Immigration Act).

Processing time

Embassy New Delhi (e-Visa from 1 Jan 2025): about 14 working days from the date the visa-fee receipt is issued.

Stay period

Up to 60 days each entry, as granted on the arrival stamp.

Validity

Single: 3 months. Multiple: 6 months (Embassy New Delhi table).

About This Visa

Use this when they need more than the 30-day exemption, or a purpose that needs a tourist visa. Apply only at https://www.thaievisa.go.th. They must be outside Thailand. Do not send passports to the Embassy counter for this e-Visa. Fees are not refunded.

Embassy New Delhi: single TR/MT, 3 months validity, 60 days stay, INR 3,000. Multiple TR, 6 months validity, 60 days stay, INR 13,500. Print the confirmation email for the airline and Thai immigration. A visa does not guarantee entry.

Immigration Division 1: Indian nationals — a tourism extension is not longer than 7 days. Do not promise a 30-day add-on after the 60-day stamp.

Documents Required

Official e-Visa tourist page — tourism and leisure. Also check the Embassy if it asks for extra papers.

  • Passport biodata page
  • Photograph taken within the last 6 months
  • Proof they are outside Thailand (for example a valid visa, or paid tickets / accommodation receipts)
  • Travel booking confirmation
  • Proof of stay in Thailand (booking, or an invitation from family/friends)
  • Financial evidence of at least 20,000 THB (for example last 3 months’ bank statements, or a sponsorship letter)

How to apply

  1. Trip of 30 days or less: no visa file. Open https://tdac.immigration.go.th. Submit within 3 days before arrival (including the arrival date). Keep the download / email copy.
  2. Trip longer than 30 days: create an account on https://www.thaievisa.go.th. Upload papers, pay, wait for the email. About 14 working days from the fee receipt.
  3. Do not use unofficial “Thai visa” sites. Consular services at the Embassy are by appointment; e-Visa is not a walk-in.

  • Usual staff path for a short holiday: TDAC, then travel. No e-Visa if 30 days is enough.
  • Longer than 30 days: tourist e-Visa TR on thaievisa.go.th, from outside Thailand.

e-Visa: the confirmation email from thaievisa.go.th. Print it.

TDAC: download from the email used at submit, or update on the same site with the TDAC number, date of birth, and nationality. Name, nationality, and date of birth cannot be changed after submit.
