About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders are not on SMF’s 15-day nationality list. They may still enter without a visa for up to 15 days if they hold a valid Schengen visa or a valid US visa, and a passport valid more than 3 months at entry.

Without that Schengen/US visa, use the Tourist e-VisaST type instead.

About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders without a qualifying Schengen or US visa need an entry authorisation before travel. Apply on the official SMF portal https://www.smf.st/evisa/ (e-VisaST). Response within 7 working days. Payment is at the border — the portal does not print a fixed tourist amount online.

SMF FAQ: you cannot rely on a border visa instead of the AE when there is no São Tomé consular post in your country of residence.

Passport scan (PDF) — validity at least 3 months beyond the stay end date
Travel / booking data (itinerary, hotel or host in São Tomé)
Proof of funds: EUR 100 per day
Minors: birth record + legal tutors’ declaration (scans)
Transit: proof of onward entry if applicable

Otherwise: https://www.smf.st/evisa/ — Tourist type, upload papers, finish all steps, keep the reference.
Wait up to 7 working days, then travel with the approval and pay the border fee Immigration quotes.

Who can apply

Indian ordinary passports: e-VisaST before travel, unless a valid Schengen or US visa unlocks the 15-day exemption.
India is not on SMF’s 15-day nationality list or the longer bilateral lists.
