About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa. They are not visa-free. India is not on the Jordan Pass restricted-nationality list. Usual tourist path: visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, or the Sheikh Hussein (Jordan River) crossing.

MOTA: JOD 40 for a one-time entry visa for one month at the airport. Pay at the visa office unless they show a printed Jordan Pass and stay long enough for the waiver.

The Embassy of India in Amman says the Ambassador in New Delhi and immigration at Queen Alia may check that arrivals from India are not coming to work illegally.

Documents Required

At the visa office — MOTA / Jordan Pass

  • Valid passport
  • Pay JOD 40, or show a printed Jordan Pass (QR) if they bought it before arrival and will stay the nights the Pass requires

Jordan Pass FAQ: print the Pass. The QR on a phone may not read. They do not have to prove hotel nights on arrival. If they leave too soon, immigration can send them to pay the visa fee.

Processing time

Not published on MOTA. Use the MOI portal.

Stay period

One month for the single-entry tourist visa MOTA lists

Validity

As issued on the MOI portal

Visa Fees and Charges

About This Visa

Apply on the official Ministry of Interior portal: https://eservices.moi.gov.jo (or the MOI_EVISA login the Embassy of India in Amman names). Royal Jordanian also names the MOI app.

Use this when they want the visa before the flight, or the airline asks for it. They can still take visa on arrival instead if they are eligible. Do not pay on lookalike sites.

Documents Required

Official apply page — https://eservices.moi.gov.jo

  • Follow the papers the MOI form asks for
  • Pay only on that official checkout

The public MOTA page does not print an e-Visa document list. Do not add agency extras.

2. Good to Know

Rules and notes that apply to every visa type

How to apply

  1. Tourist, flying into Queen Alia: visa on arrival, or e-Visa first on https://eservices.moi.gov.jo.
  2. If they will visit paid sites and stay at least two whole nights (three days): buy Jordan Pass before arrival at https://www.jordanpass.jo and show the printout at the visa office to skip the JOD 40.
  3. Double or multiple: MOTA says embassy or consulate (JOD 60 / JOD 120). MFA London says from 19 March 2023 apply only on the MOI portal. Use MOI unless New Delhi tells them to walk in.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa.
  • Usual staff path: visa on arrival (JOD 40) or MOI e-Visa. Jordan Pass is not a visa — it can waive the single-entry fee.
  • India is not on the Jordan Pass restricted list.
  • Temporary or emergency travel documents: Royal Jordanian says file at a Jordanian embassy, not this tourist path.

Jordan Pass

  • Official site: https://www.jordanpass.jo. It is not a visa.
  • It waives the single-entry visa fee (JOD 40) if they buy it before arrival and stay at least two whole nights (three days). It does not waive a multiple-entry visa.
  • Email PDF and image. Print it. Show it at the visa office and at sites.
  • Valid three months from purchase. After the first site scan it runs for one month.
  • Contact: info@jordanpass.jo. In Jordan: Tourism police 117777.

Other MOTA fees

  • Double entry, up to three months: JOD 60 — MOTA says embassy or consulate.
  • Multiple entry, up to six months: JOD 120 — MOTA says embassy or consulate.
  • Extend the one-month single visa at a police station. Jordan Pass FAQ: JOD 40 at the station for two more months, or JOD 3 per extra day at the airport after one month.

Borders

  • Visa on arrival: Queen Alia Airport and Sheikh Hussein Bridge (Jordan Pass FAQ).
  • Wadi Araba (Eilat–Aqaba): visa on arrival only for eligible Jordan Pass holders staying two whole nights.
  • Aqaba Airport: Jordan Pass FAQ says non-restricted nationalities do not need a visa there.
  • Leaving too soon with a Pass: they can be asked to pay the visa fee. Wadi Araba early exit: FAQ says JOD 60.
