About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders are Category B for Guatemala. Category B nationals who hold a valid US, Canadian, Mexican or Schengen visa are treated as Category A (visa-exempt) and do not need a Guatemalan consular visa.

Without that document, apply for a Category B tourist visa at the Embassy in New Delhi before travel.

About This Visa

Without a qualifying US/Canada/Mexico/Schengen visa, Indian ordinary-passport holders need a Category B tourist/traveler visa from the Embassy of Guatemala in New Delhi (also covers Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives). Apply in person for an interview — email consindia@minex.gob.gt for an appointment. Do not use travel agencies; the Embassy warns against scammers.

Pay the fee in exact US dollar cash. The mission may ask for more papers and may interview.

Documents Required

Category B tourist (single/multiple) — Embassy New Delhi

  • Complete application form
  • Valid passport (min. 6 months)
  • Flight ticket
  • Proof of income and/or bank statement for the last three months
  • International credit card; or debit card with bank statement for the last six months
  • Invitation / letter of service requirement for paid consultations/services — plus DPI of the invitee when that path applies
  • Minors: accompany with a parent or legal representative, documented
  • Exact USD cash for the visa fee (USD 50 single / USD 150 multiple)

How to apply

  1. Check for a valid US/Canada/Mexico/Schengen visa first.
  2. If needed: email consindia@minex.gob.gt for a visa-section appointment (Mon–Fri 9:30–13:00).
  3. Attend in person with the Category B checklist and exact USD cash.
  4. Wait for issuance; travel with passport and visa. At the border show onward ticket/funds as asked.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary passports: Category B visa unless US/Canada/Mexico/Schengen visa exemption applies.
  • Embassy New Delhi jurisdiction: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives.
  • Diplomatic/official Indian passports: confirm Category A treatment on MINEX lists before travel.
  • CA-4 multi-country visas are not issued here since September 2015.

Watch-outs

  • Fees: USD 50 single / USD 150 multiple — exact cash.
  • US/Canada/Mexico/Schengen exemption for Category B.
  • No CA-4 visas from Embassy India since 7 Sep 2015.
  • Reapply only after 12 months if refused / denied / cancelled.
