About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a visa for Burundi. India is not on the short East African Community free list. Apply before travel through the official Commissariat Général des Migrations (CGM) portal https://migration.gov.bi.

Usual tourist path: visa de séjour on the CGM fee table — from USD 10 (5 days) to USD 210 (3 months). A one-month stay is USD 70. Pay online on the portal. After you apply, download or print the visa-request certificate from the email link and carry it to the entry point.

Documents Required

CGM — visa de séjour

  1. Passport photocopy

  2. Passport photo

  3. Copy of any current Burundi visa, if you already hold one

Upload what the online form asks for. Yellow fever certificate is commonly checked at East African borders — carry the international card.

Embassy

Embassy of Burundi in New Delhi — resident mission in Vasant Vihar.

Street address listings disagree across directories. Confirm the current address and hours with the mission before sending a client. Prefer the CGM portal for tourist visas: https://migration.gov.bi · contact@migration.gov.bi · (+257) 22 45 12 78.

Watch-outs

  • Official portal only: https://migration.gov.bi — not third-party look-alikes.
  • Do not invent a walk-in VOA fee from travel blogs; quote the CGM fee table.
  • Carry yellow fever certificate for border health checks.

How to track

Use the email confirmation and migration.gov.bi account / certificate link. CGM support: contact@migration.gov.bi · (+257) 22 45 12 78 · technical +257 79 12 81 28.
