About This Visa

Indian ordinary-passport holders need a tourist / visit visa for Bolivia. Nationalities fall into Grupo I (no tourist visa), Grupo II (tourist visa required), and Grupo III (tourist visa after DIGEMIG authorisation). India is Grupo II. File the sworn visa form online, then collect the visa at a Bolivian mission in India before travel.

Usual staff path: complete the form on https://visas.cancilleria.gob.bo/ about 20 days before travel, print and sign, then lodge with the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in New Delhi. Tourism covers rest and leisure only.

Documents Required

Tourist / visit visa (Grupo II)

  • Passport valid at least six (6) months
  • Sworn visa application form (Declaración Jurada)
  • Yellow-fever vaccination certificate if visiting high-risk endemic areas
  • Travel itinerary or return tickets
  • Invitation letter from a person with legal domicile in Bolivia registered and authorised by DIGEMIG — or hotel / lodging reservation
  • Proof of funds: bank statement and/or credit card (or sworn declaration of economic solvency backed by documents)
  • Current photograph 4 × 4 cm, red background
  • Proof of payment of the applicable consular fee (unless a state agreement waives it)

How to apply

  1. About 20 days before travel, open https://visas.cancilleria.gob.bo/ and complete the sworn visa form.
  2. Print, sign, and lodge with the Consular Section in New Delhi with originals / copies as they ask.
  3. Pay the consular fee as the mission directs (published tourism tariff USD 50, subject to reciprocity).
  4. Collect the visa before departure.
  5. On arrival, follow DIGEMIG / Immigration controls; check https://www.migracion.gob.bo/ for any current digital pre-registration before travel.

Who can apply

  • Indian ordinary-passport holders: Grupo II tourist / visit visa before travel.
  • Indian diplomatic and official passports: visa exemption under the 2019 bilateral agreement (in force 29 June 2019).
  • Transit: separate transit visa up to 15 days, with tickets showing a third-country final destination.
  • Work, study, family, health, investment: not this tourist path — objeto determinado, student, multiple, etc.
